City of Festus Enhances Emergency Preparedness with Outdoor Warning System Upgrade
We’ve completed a $184,000 modernization of our citywide Outdoor Warning System. Thanks to Mayor and City Council support, Festus now operates a fully upgraded network of 6 omni-directional sirens—4 of which were fully replaced—along with the latest RapidWarn alert system.
Now linked directly to the National Weather Service, this system allows for automatic activation of outdoor alerts during severe weather or emergencies. Monthly tests (1st Tuesdays) will now feature a low-impact chime alert.
