Patrol Division

Staff

The Patrol Division is made up of 2 sergeants, 6 corporals, and 12 patrol officers. We have two platoons that are supervised by the sergeants and the corporals, under the command of the captain. Each platoon works 10-hour shifts with 5 days on and 4 days off. The patrol schedule rotates every 28 days.

Visit the Patrol Division Staff Directory to find a listing of officers in each platoon. You can select an officer to find their contact information, department service number, and any available biographical information.

Function

It is the function of the Patrol Division to provide pro-active patrol and efficient response to reported incidents, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, within the City of Festus. As the "backbone" of the department, the Patrol Division is charged with preventing criminal activity, protecting life and property, preserving the peace, check suspicious persons and vehicles, investigate crimes and offenses, and make arrests. The patrol officer has many different roles, they act as a protector, law enforcer, investigator, counselor, problem solver, peacekeepers, and an interpreter of the law.

The Patrol Division works to achieve these goals through preventative patrol. Our officers make their presence visible to serve as a deterrent to criminal activities through out the City.
