The Water Department is responsible for distribution of water from the Jefferson County Water Authority plant through the 69 miles of water lines located in Festus. The lines are installed in different areas in different parts of the city, such as street rights of way, yard easements, or through city owned property. The city can supplement water from the Jefferson County Water with water from Wells Number 8 and Number 10.
